
Ukraine opens national training complex for demining and environmental safety
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has opened the Ukrainian Training and Testing Complex (UTTC) to develop new technologies in demining, civil protection, and environmental safety
The Ministry's press service reported the information.
The training and testing complex has tracks and obstacle courses for light and heavy mechanized demining equipment. There are also areas for testing unmanned aerial and ground robotic systems, metal detectors, special demining equipment, and environmental monitoring equipment.
The training ground is planned to accumulate experience in mine action, civil protection, and environmental safety, as well as research and production capabilities for the development, testing, and implementation of the latest innovative projects.
“This complex is a unique platform for both practical use and interagency and international cooperation, testing domestic and foreign models in the field of mine action, civil protection and environmental safety,” said Colonel Ruslan Berehulya, Head of the Main Directorate of Mine Action, Civil Protection and Environmental Safety.
During the first day of the training ground's operation, the products of domestic enterprises, expositions of scientific institutions and techno-industrial clusters were presented.
The opening ceremony was attended by demining specialists of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine, representatives of central and local executive authorities, representatives of partner countries, businesses, international organizations and mine action operators.
