Ukraine needs to join NATO and member states agree - Stefanishyna
Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Olha Stefanishyna says that all 30 NATO member countries agree with the need for Ukraine to join the Alliance
She expressed her opinion during the Kyiv Security Forum.
“We have made progress in the issue of rapprochement with NATO. At the last ministerial meeting in Bucharest, all 30 NATO member countries agreed on the need to grant Ukraine membership in the Alliance,” Stefanishyna said.
According to her, NATO members have confirmed that the door is open for Ukraine to join the Alliance. The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized that this decision does not repeat the conclusion of the Bucharest Summit in 2008.
“This is a new powerful signal, and it is very important that it shows: no one is afraid of pressure from the Russian Federation,” Stefanishyna said.
