Ukraine needs to create reserve army - Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Lapin
For Ukraine to win the war, it is necessary to create a reserve army – the political will of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to create it would indicate that he is leading the country to victory
Ihor Lapin, an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this on Espreso TV.
He commented on the statement by Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Presidential Administration, that "to finalize the war, the Armed Forces need to neutralize 5,000 Russian occupiers per day."
"The mobilization resource of the Russian Federation is 25 million, if 10% go to war, it will be 2.5 million. We have about 1 million mobilized troops. There are also 3 million migrant workers in Russia – why is Podolyak not sure that they will be sent to war, just as 700,000 Tajiks who have received Russian passports are being sent," Lapin said.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces officer spoke about the possibility of winning this war for Ukraine.
"I see no other option but to create a reserve army from the Ukrainian population. We should give weapons, conduct drills on how to use them, and provide the population with bulletproof vests and helmets. Even if these items are stored at home, this trained person knows that when the time comes, he or she must come to the unit. He will already have his weapon, equipment, and an alarm case. The political will of the president to create such a reserve army would indicate that he is leading us to victory," he said.
