Ukraine more likely to join NATO than European Union - political expert Smoliy

He shared his views on Espreso.

"If we talk about the organizational and legal components, it is much easier for us to join NATO than to join the European Union. After all, joining the EU means fulfilling requirements and a large body of legislation. NATO is about something else, it is about security, a military-political alliance. And we have already actually fulfilled these military and political components," Smoliy said. 

The political expert is convinced that Ukraine already meets the NATO standards.

"Ukraine must strive for NATO membership today, because our country already meets the standards of the Alliance. The way the Ukrainian army is fighting, the defenders show themselves, the use of NATO weapons is a confirmation that we wort to be in NATO," said Andriy Smoliy.
