"Ukraine is ready for an offensive from the territory of Belarus" - Nayev

The commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhii Nayev.

He said this on the air of the telethon.

Nayev said that currently Russia has concentrated 1,000 soldiers, 6 aircraft, 4 Iskander launchers, as well as 12 anti-aircraft missile systems on the territory of Belarus, and this armament will continue to grow.

He noted that the accumulation of Russian weapons along with the resources of the Belarusian Armed Forces create a threat of a repeated attack on the north of Ukraine, in particular on Kyiv.

However, Nayev noted that Ukraine constantly monitors the level of probability of any military threats, and combat potential is measured not only by numbers but also by effectiveness.  The commander said that Ukraine constantly responds to military threats from Belarus and builds up its troops in the appropriate number and with a higher combat potential in order to stabilize the situation.

"As of now, we are ready for an offensive from the Republic of Belarus," Nayev commented.

He also emphasizes once again that the situation on the border with Belarus is under control, and Ukraine's Armed Forces are ready for any risks and a possible new offensive.
