Ukraine establishes production of 122-mm artillery shells with NATO country and ships first batch to AFU

The State Concern Ukroboronprom together with NATO has launched the production of 122-mm artillery shells, the first batch has already been shipped to the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The State Concern Ukroboronprom  together with NATO has launched the production of 122-mm artillery shells, the first batch has already been shipped for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is noted that this is the third type of ammunition manufactured using Ukrainian technology and with our specialists at foreign facilities.

"The 122 mm caliber projectile is used by Ukrainian artillery when working with D-30 trailed howitzers (maximum range - 15,400 meters) and 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems (maximum range - 15,200 meters).

The order of the Ukraine's Ministry of Defense was preceded by factory tests, during which Ukroboronprom confirmed the necessary tactical and technical characteristics of the projectile: the strength of the body when fired, the stability of the equipment, the maximum range, the check of the firing accuracy, the completeness of the projectile burst," the press service emphasized.
