Ukraine defeating Russia quicker is in interest of collective West - Hanna Hopko

On the air of the Spotlight Ukraine program, the head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Hanna Hopko, talked about whether the West is running out of weapons for Ukraine, whether the international community is exhausted from the war, and how allies will support Ukraine during the winter.

This is reported on Spotlight Ukraine | Espreso TV Channel.

The head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine considers it extremely important to raise the geopolitical relevance of Ukraine's victory over Russia.

“Ukraine defeating Russia quicker is in the interest of the collective West, because the world will not face inflation, there will be no weaponisation of energy, and Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism will be held accountable,” Hanna Hopko said.

Speaking about the West's assistance to Ukraine during the winter, the former member of the Ukrainian parliament emphasized that the priority is weapons that would prevent Russian attacks on Ukrainian critical infrastructure.

“We're trying to convince our Western partners from the Ramstein coalition that the F-16 fighters and the ATACMS and NASAMS systems are the priority, and only then the generators, which are also crucially important. In June, we warned Washington DC, Brussel, and London that there would be Holodomor in autumn, and Russia would deliberately attack critical infrastructure and kill civilians. So now all damage to critical infrastructure is a result of the delay of weapons we need,” she said.

Hanna Hopko also added that frozen Russian assets should be confiscated, because “Russia should pay for its genocide against Ukraine.”
