Ukraine calls on Israel to cooperate in any way, but so far to no avail - Defense Minister

Ukraine is trying to persuade Israel to abandon its policy of neutrality in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war and start cooperation, but so far to no avail

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov made the statement at a briefing in Kyiv on January 18, LIGA.net reports.

"We are trying to convince them that the position of neutrality no longer works in the modern world," the defense minister said.

He noted that Russian troops could use the “kamikaze” drones they launch in Ukraine against Israel as well.

"This means that tomorrow, having gained such experience, they can use them against the population of Israel. That is why we invite the state of Israel and its officials to cooperate in any way, but unfortunately, I cannot boast of success so far," the minister said.

Commenting on the NYT report that the US is supplying Ukraine with ammunition stored in warehouses in Israel, Reznikov said he was aware of these plans but refused to elaborate.

"I am aware of their plans and the amount of assistance they are providing us, including 155 mm caliber shells, but I will not disclose them because we will be listened to and read not only by friends but also by enemies," the minister commented.
