Ukraine arrests four ships transporting grain stolen by Russia
At the request of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol, a court has seized four vessels transporting stolen Ukrainian grain from Crimea
The Prosecutor General's Office announced this on Facebook.
According to the investigators, the vessels entered the closed ports and terminals of the Crimean Peninsula, taking part in the illegal scheme of transporting Ukrainian grain to third countries by the Russian invaders, and thus were a tool for committing crimes.
"The ships Matros Pozynich, Mikhail Nenashev, and Matros Koshka under the flag of the Russian Federation, as well as the Syrian vessel, are carrying out systematic illegal actions towards the closed Sevastopol sea trade port. In this way, the Crimean Peninsula is used by the Russian Federation as a "grey zone" for the transportation of grain, which they illegally seized", the Prosecutor General's Office noted.
An investigation is ongoing into the facts of violation of the procedure for entering and leaving the temporarily occupied territory (Part 2 of Article 332-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
