On the night of September 2, the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit two Russian army positions in temporarily occupied Melitopol, one of which then detonated for several hours
Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov announced this on his Telegram account.
“Another hell night for the Russian occupiers in Melitopol and well-coordinated work of our Armed Forces! According to preliminary data, two enemy locations were hit at once," writes Fedorov.
The mayor reports that Ukrainian defenders destroyed a warehouse with Russian ammunition near the Melitopol airfield, which "the occupiers are trying to restore unsuccessfully."
The remains of the ammunition detonated for several hours after the explosion.
Information about the second hit is being clarified.
