UK Defence Minister Ben Wallace arrives in Ukraine to discuss further weapons supplies
Great Britain’s Minister of Defence Ben Wallace has arrived in Kyiv to discuss further arms assistance with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov
President Zelensky's Facebook page shared an update about the visit.
"Weapons, funds, sanctions are the three things in which the UK has consistently shown its leadership in support of Ukraine. We appreciate this truly real, united work where words and communication are constantly in action. I am grateful to Defence Minister Ben Wallace and his team for this visit, as well as the UK in general, the government, and the Prime Minister for help," Zelensky said.
The video shows that, in addition to Reznikov and Zelensky, the meeting was also attended by Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky and the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak.
Wallace said that the history of Ukraine and Great Britain have much in common, because Ukrainians today, like the British during World War II, are fighting a fascist regime, which has a vast advantage, but at the same time the enemy is on the verge of collapsing due to the courageous and wise tactics of Ukrainian troops. He told those at the meeting that Ukraine, like Britain, never gives up, no matter how difficult things get.
At the end of the meeting, Zelensky presented Minister Wallace with a commemorative copy of the military stamp "Russian Warship - Done" that he signed.
