Turkey speaks on possible passage of US ships carrying UAV downed over Black Sea
The decision on the possible passage of US ships in the Black Sea to pick up the wreckage of the MQ-9 Reaper drone shot down by Russia will be made in the near future
This was stated by Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, Anadolu Agency reports.
"We are closely monitoring the issue. There are various contacts, including between structures in Turkey itself. We are trying to find a reasonable and logical solution with our US partners. We support a peaceful way out of the situation," the official said.
"The next steps will be clarified in the near future," he added, answering a question about the passage of American ships to the Black Sea.

On March 14, a Russian Su-27 fighter jet collided with an American MQ-9 Reaper drone in international airspace over the Black Sea. As a result of the incident, the drone was shot down. After the incident, the US began negotiations with Russia at the "highest level" and summoned the Russian ambassador to Washington.

Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov said after the incident with the downing of the American MQ-9 Reaper drone over the Black Sea that Moscow does not want a confrontation with the US, but "American aircraft have no business near the Russian border."
