Reuters reported the information, citing a senior Trump administration official and three sources familiar with the matter.
According to the outlet, the decision could be made as early as April this year.
Sources noted that this step is part of the Trump administration's broader efforts to revoke the legal status of more than 1.8 million migrants who were allowed to enter the United States under temporary humanitarian programs launched under President Joe Biden's administration.
Instead, U.S. Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said that her agency is currently unaware of such plans. The White House and the Ukrainian embassy did not respond to requests for comment.
- In February, Czech Interior Minister Vit Rakusan said that after a ceasefire or the end of the war in Ukraine, refugees in the Czech Republic would not be able to receive temporary protection.
