Tragedy in Brovary: how world reacts to helicopter crash with Interior Ministry officials
A number of countries have expressed their condolences to the Ukrainian people because of the helicopter crash in Brovary, in which the leadership of Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs and children died
European leaders tweeted about the tragedy in Brovary.
“I express my deepest condolences to the Ukrainian authorities and people for the helicopter crash that killed 16 persons, including the Minister of Interior, this morning. My thoughts are with the victims and their families,” Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejčinović Burić wrote.
“Estonia mourns with you. Yet another tragic reminder of the incredibly heavy price Ukraine is paying during its freedom fight against Russia,” Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas wrote.
The Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs called the terrible news about the fatal crash of a helicopter with the leadership of Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“We mourn victims on the ground, my deep condolences to the families and friends, I wish speedy recovery to the injured,” Edgars Rinkēvičs tweeted.
President of Poland Andrzej Duda also joined in expressing his condolences to those who died as a result of the disaster.
“It is with deep sadness that I received information about the helicopter crash in Brovary near Kyiv which left several persons killed, including senior officials of Ukraine's Ministry of Interior. My thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the victims,” he tweeted.
In addition, the President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili and Finland's Minister of Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto joined the support of Ukraine.
“I express my deepest condolences to the families of the victims, the people of Ukraine, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Georgia grieves with you,” Zourabichvili tweeted.
At the same time, the UK declared its readiness to support Ukraine in all possible ways. Foreign Minister James Cleverly said that the deceased Ukraine's Interior Minister Denys Monastyrskyi “was a true friend of the UK.”

On Wednesday, January 18, a helicopter fell near a kindergarten in Brovary, resulting in the death of 18 people, including the leadership of Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is noted that 9 people were on board the helicopter: 6 members of the operative group of Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as 3 members of the State Emergency Service.
