Tortured teenager while occupying Kyiv region: Kadyrov's friend is charged with war crimes

Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) has identified a friend of Kadyrov who tortured a minor during the Russian forces' temporary occupation of the Kyiv region.

This was reported by the SBU press service on Telegram. 

According to the information of the special service, the commander of the Chechen special purpose mobile unit (OMON) of the Russian Guard Akhmat, Bisayev Anzor Saladievich, who was part of the closest entourage of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, at the beginning of March 2022 in the village of Babyntsi, Bucha district, Kyiv region, together with his subordinates stormed one of the local private houses and kidnapped a teenager

"At gunpoint and holding a knife to his head, the invaders demanded information from him about the location of Ukrainian troops. When the torture did not yield the desired result, the boy was placed in an armored car and continued to be abused, using violence and threats of physical violence", the SBU reported. 

SBU investigators declared the occupier a suspect under Part 1 of Art. 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

At the same time, the Prosecutor General's Office reported that under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, Anzor Bisayev was informed in absentia of the suspicion of taking hostages and the use of torture against the civilian population (Part 1, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
