He shared his opinion with "Espreso.TV" live on air.

"We have the beginning of a new official discussion, within the framework of the Alliance, of the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO. Our application should at least be considered, the official representatives of all states should gather and give some kind of answer to Ukraine," the political scientist commented.

Volodymyr Volya noted that such a discussion will be useful among NATO member countries, because it will once again show who in the Alliance are "exiled Cossacks" from Russia, and who are actually friends of Ukraine.

"I predict that with the start of consideration of Ukraine's application and when voting on what answer to give, three states will unequivocally vote against Ukraine's accession to NATO. These are Orban, Hungary first, then Erdogan, Turkey, and Bulgaria. In addition, the statement of nine states that unequivocally support Ukraine's membership in the Alliance. However, it is not yet clear with Canada whether it is yes or no, as well as with the USA, which will still determine their positions through internal consultations among themselves," Volya noted.

The political scientist emphasized that it would be important and appropriate if Ukraine was eventually granted a special partnership format for the time when the procedures for joining the Alliance would continue.
