"This is exactly what Putin is counting on": EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell says Europe cannot afford war fatigue

This is reported by European Pravda with reference to Borrell's statement at the press conference after the meeting of the Council of the European Union.

"I am sure that Putin is counting on democratic fatigue. I am convinced of this. He believes that democracies are weak, news is overshadowed by other news... But no. European societies cannot afford fatigue," Borrell said.

According to him, the governments of the member states of the European Union should continue to adhere to the decisions they made regarding the sanctions introduced against the Russian Federation.

"They made a decision to introduce restrictive measures against the Russian economy and they must implement them. And they must maintain pressure on the Russian economy, realizing that a miraculous settlement will not happen. But we must continue. Just as we continue to provide military support (to Ukraine - Ed.)", Borrell added.
