The Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the city of Irpin near Kyiv from the Russian occupiers.

This was stated by Mayor Oleksandr Markushin in a video message on Facebook.

"Today we have good news - Irpin has been liberated. A sweep is underway. I want to thank the servicemen of the Armed Forces, the Territorial Defence, the National Police and special units of the GUR. Guys, when we are together, we are a force", he said.

The mayor addressed to citizens.

"It is impossible to return to Irpin yet. It is dangerous. We are consolidating our borders and will continue to liberate Bucha, Gostomel, Vorzel. We understand that our city will be attacked and we will courageously defend it. Irpin is Ukraine", - Markushin added.
