This was announced by the Polish government.

The joint press conference at the Huta Stalowa Wola metallurgical plant on Tuesday (June 7th) was attended by the Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin and the Polish National Defence Minister Mariusz Blaszczak.

"We are currently signing one of the largest arms contracts for the last three decades with Ukraine. These weapons are well tested, and today we know that they will be important on the battlefield," said Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

According to him, the supply is partially financed by the EU and the state budget of Ukraine. The total amount of the contract will be almost 3 billion PLN or about 628 million USD.

In turn, Deputy Prime Minister Sasin also noted that the contract is a "record" for Poland, costing more than 2.7 billion PLN.

"There has been no such contract in the Polish defence industry for the last 30 years," Sasin said.

The reports did not say what the weapons were, but the government tweeted that the manufacturer is the "Huta Stalowa Wola S.A., a PGZ-owned manufacturer of equipment for the Polish army”, and the supply will include the Krab (Crab) howitzer and Rak (Cancer) mortar carriers.

Another post states that "Polish weapons are highly valued. Perun or Krab are the types of weapons we are most often asked to sell."

Moravetsky also noted that "Peruns have shown themselves very well on the battlefield, they are praised in Ukraine. I confirm that we will order more of them."

Therefore, the contract is probably concluded for the manufacture and sale of 155-millimetre Krab artillery carrier units. As previously reported by the Polish newspaper Dzennik, the government plans to sign a contract for almost 3 billion PLN with Huta Stalowa Wola for manufacturing 60 Krab howitzers. Despite the fact that the annual production volume of the plant is 20-30 units.
