Spain to build Ukrainian Dzhura and Kozak armored vehicles – Defense Express
A new partnership between Spanish company Tecnove and Ukraine’s Research and Production Association PRACTIKA may mark a step forward for Ukraine’s defense industry in the global arms market
Defense Express writes about this.
Spanish defense manufacturer Tecnove has signed a deal to produce Ukraine’s Dzhura and Kozak armored vehicles at its facility in Erencia, according to Infodefensa. The contract's full details remain undisclosed, but the vehicles will be produced in three versions: medical evacuation, special operations, and troop transport.
Tecnove describes the Dzhura as “a universal armored vehicle for extreme conditions,” and the Kozak as “a highly protected and mobile vehicle for tactical missions.”
Before signing the agreement, Tecnove expanded its production capacity in Erencia. This marks the second time in 2025 that Spain has partnered with a foreign company to jointly produce armored vehicles. In February, EM&E Group teamed up with Nimr to make the JAIS 6x6 vehicle.
Defense analysts suggest this deal could help Ukraine expand its defense exports. Even without full contract details, this sets an important precedent, noted Defense Express.
