Suspect detained on arrival from Middle East region for planning explosion on Bukovyna railway
Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) has identified a person who arrived in Ukraine from the Middle East as a suspected saboteur, believed to have been planning explosions at Ukrainian Railways targets
This was reported by Ukraine's Security Service in the Chernivtsi region.
The saboteur is suspected of committing the crime provided for in Part 2 of Article 111 (treason) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The SBU added that at the end of June, employees of the Office of Ukraine's Security Service in the Chernivtsi region detained an enemy agent in Chernivtsi during a multi-stage special operation.
"He arrived in Ukraine to collect intelligence on the transport channels for the supply of weapons and military equipment, the locations of fuel tanks, and the deployment of Ukrainian military units in Bukovyna. Based on the data received, the enemy planned to carry out sabotage, including explosions at railway and logistics facilities warehouses", it is noted.
Then he was informed of the suspicion under part 1 of Art. 258-3 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code.
