Sunak appalled by video showing beheading of Ukrainian soldier, calls for justice
On April 14, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with the UK’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. They have discussed the situation at the frontline
The president reported the information on Telegram.
President Zelenskyy also discussed with Prime Minister Sunak Ukraine's defense needs and increased support, as well as planned international events.
At the same time, Sky News notes that Sunak called "appalling" the video of a Ukrainian soldier being beheaded by Russian forces, and said that those responsible need to be "held to account"
"The leaders also discussed efforts to accelerate military support to Ukraine, and the prime minister said the UK and its allies needed to continue to ensure Ukraine was in the strongest possible position to build on its recent battlefield successes," a Downing Street spokesman was quoted as saying.
"That included increasing interoperability with NATO both in the short and long term," Sunak added.
At the end of the conversation, the leaders agreed to "stay in close touch."

On the evening of April 11, a video was posted online showing Russian troops executing a man, calling him a Ukrainian soldier. The Security Service of Ukraine launched an investigation.
