Strongman athlete Andrii Dmitriev has been killed defending Ukraine near Bakhmut, Ukraine's

Strongman Federation reports

Andriy Dmytriev was a multiple winner of the championships of Ukraine, a master of sports in strongman and the head of the Sumy branch of Ukraine's Strongman Federation.

“Our strongman family has suffered an irreparable loss. We will remember you, friend! The flag will be raised in your honor at the competition! We sympathize and mourn together with our loved ones and relatives... Thank you. Rest in peace, Angel. Glory to the Hero,” the message says.

Andrii Dmitriev was killed in the battles near Bakhmut.
