Strike at Dnipropetrovsk region: energy facility destroyed in Kryvyi Rih, three missiles shot down by air defense
In Dnipropetrovsk region, an energy facility was destroyed as a result of Russian attack, three missiles were shot down by the Ukrainian air defense system
This was reported by the Dnipropetrovsk Military Administration.
"The Russians fired missiles at an energy infrastructure facility in Kryvyi Rih. There is serious destruction," the first message read.
After the air raid warning was lifted, the administration announced good news:
"We intercepted three Russian missiles. The troops from the air command East shot them down over the Sinelnykivskyi and Kryvorizky districts. Our defenders of the sky are the coolest"!
Subsequently, the mayor of Kryvyi Rih, Oleksandr Vilkul, reported that the anti-aircraft missile system shot down two missiles:
"Three missiles hit the energy infrastructure object, which is practically destroyed. Rescuers are fighting a large-scale fire. Several areas of the city are without electricity. Switching to other lines is underway where possible."
It also became known that in part of the Ternivka district, boiler houses were stopped due to lack of electricity. The consequences are being investigated.
As for water, in Kryvyi Rih several pumping stations are run by generators. Weak water pressure is possible.
The subway in the city stopped only for 15 minutes as it was switched to backup lines. The trolleybuses are not working. All hospitals are running on generators.
There were 566 miners underground in four mines during the explosions. A rescue operation is underway. 457 have already been brought to the surface. Another 109 people are underground. It takes several hours. Counterweights and manual winches are used.
The mayor adds that the situation is very difficult, all emergency, utility and rescue services are working.
