Stephen Fry has signed a contract to narrate We Are Home, a feature-length documentary about the war in Ukraine that tells the story of families and children who were forced to leave their homes because of the war. The film was produced by British actress Kayleigh-Paige Rees, best known for her role as Julia Beaufort in the TV series Sanditon, which is an adaptation of Jane Austen's unfinished novel.
The film was directed by Ukrainian Anton Chistyakov. The feature film was shot entirely in Skole, Lviv region.
The film focuses on the stories of children who have been forced to leave their hometowns due to fear of Russian attacks and destruction, and sheds light on their resourcefulness. The stories of several children from different parts of the country describe their fears, losses and new challenges, reminding viewers of the strength of the human spirit.
"I am honestly speechless and beyond honoured that Stephen said yes to narrating our documentary. I wrote a personal letter to Stephen detailing the project itself and the incredible team we had attached to this project. The film doesn’t yet have distribution but is set for a festival run next year," Rees said.
