Sixth package of sanctions against Russia to be adopted this week - France
The EU may adopt a sixth package of sanctions against Russia this week, Europe must show strength and unity.
The comments by France’s Secretary of State for European affairs Clement Beaune were reported by Interfax-Ukraine.
He said that "logically, there has to be firmness, unity and European solidarity." The situation in Ukraine demands from the West "to increase pressure and sanctions against Russia."
He called the decision on the embargo on Russian oil an "objectively difficult question."
"Some countries like Hungary are very dependent, more than other European countries, on this type of energy. Thus, the search for solutions is underway, and today some European leaders, including (President of France) Emmanuel Macron and (European Commission President) Ursula von der Leyen, will speak with (Prime Minister of Hungary - Ed.) Viktor Orban to find a solution," said Clement Beaune.
