"Situation is getting worse": IAEA Director General Grossi called for creation of safety zone around ZNPP as soon as possible
The situation in the Zaporizhzhia region is worsening, so the safety zone around the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant must be created as soon as possible
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, stated, Fox News reports.
"In my opinion, the situation around Zaporizhzhia is getting worse. As conflict develops, as you know, the situation on the eastern front is intensifying. Therefore, I believe that now more than ever it is important and urgent to take interim measures to protect the nuclear facility," Grossi said.
At the same time, he admitted that the discussion and process of creating a safe nuclear zone around ZNPP are progressing more slowly than he expected. According to him, this step requires political will.
Grossi emphasized that many European leaders support the creation of a security zone.
