Shopping center near Moscow catches fire, a person injured

Russian mass media reported on the fire citing Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations and emergency services.

According to experts, construction materials caught fire on an open area near the shopping center, but the fire spread to the first floor of the building.

As of 09:45 a.m., the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations emphasized that ​​the fire spread over  10,000 km2., the number of fire complexity has been raised to 4.

The ministry noted that the fire may spread over the entire building. Currently, all employees have been evacuated. A security guard at the shopping center was injured.

The cause of the fire is a short circuit due to rain, emergency services say.

Damages may amount to several billion rubles, the press service of the All-Russian Insurance Association reported.
