On Monday, September 26, a man broke into Izhevsk school No. 88 and started shooting. Currently, at least 13 people have been killed, including 7 children.
Oleksandr Brenchalov, the head of the Udmurt Republic, as well as Russian mass media and Telegram channels reports.
The TASS news agency, with reference to the Investigative Committee, reports that 7 children, some security guards and teachers are killed, 14 children and 7 adults are injured. Brenchalov states that the attacker has shot himself.
The investigative committee identified the shooter - it is 34-year-old Artem Kazantsev, a former graduate of the same school. The committee suggests that Kazantsev had neo-fascist views and followed neo-Nazi ideology. The investigators found a swastika symbol on his clothing.
Oleksandr Khinshtein, the deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, reports that the shooter was armed with two traumatic pistols that were modified to fire live cartridges.
The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation sent a group of specialists to Izhevsk to provide assistance. Mash writes that the injured children mostly have injuries from firearms or fractures from jumping from upper floors.
The investigation of the criminal case about the shooting at the school was transferred to the central office of the Investigative Committee.
In Udmurtia, local authorities announced that the mourning for those who died at the school will last until September 29.
