"Set up Gulag for those who don't love Russia": Russian radio presenter urges torture for teachers in occupied Melitopol
The Russian occupation authorities in Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, want to force local residents to "love Russia", and Russian propagandists call for anyone who disagrees to be tortured or shot, even calling for the creation of Gulags (the extensive and brutal Soviet prison system for political dissidents)
This was reported in RIA Melitopol by publishing a corresponding video with fragments of air on the Russian radio Komsomolskaya Pravda.
In the program hosted by propagandist Sergey Mardan, there was a telephone call with a man who spoke about examples of "sabotage" by the Ukrainian population of the city occupied by the Russians.
According to the man, "the most important people who could be shot" are those Ukrainian teachers who did not want to work according to the Russian school curriculum.
"A sad situation since September 1: half of the teachers refused to go to work. These teachers receive money on Privatbank cards from the front line. A one-time payment for not going to work in "Moscow" schools is USD 1,000 and every month they receive about USD 200 from Ukraine. They are preparing to teach children the Ukrainian language and history with the help of distance learning", a supporter of the occupation authorities said.
The presenter noted that it is not worth shooting "just for money" and offered to use the experience of the "unforgettable Naftali Frankel" - one of the founders of the Gulag.
"To take away the credit cards they receive money on and force them to eat these cards! Or evict them from their apartments. Well, at least something in the spirit of our good old Gulag. They are waiting for the Gulag! So give them a Gulag to wrap their fur coats!" - the presenter said.
He also proposed setting up a "local Zaporizhia Gulag in the steppe under the scorching sun for teachers who haven't learned to love our beautiful homeland (Russia - Ed.) yet".
