Death toll from Russian strike on Dnipro rises to 45 as search and rescue operations have been completed

On January 17, search and rescue operations in the rubble of an apartment building ended in Dnipro, 39 people were rescued, including 6 children. In total, 45 people died in Saturday’s Russian attack, including 6 children, 79 people were injured with 16 children among them

Valentyn Reznichenko, head of the Dnipro Regional Military Administration, reported on the situation.

"According to updated information, the Russian missile killed 45 people, including 6 children," the statement reads.

Earlier, Ukraine’s State Emergencies Service reported 44 dead.

This was reported by the State emergency services.

"At 13:00 on January 17, search and rescue operations in Dnipro at the site of the missile attack were completed. 39 people were rescued, including 6 children, 44 people were killed, including 5 children, 79 people were injured, including 16 children," the statement reads.

The head of the Dnipro Regional Administration Valentyn Reznichenko said that the youngest of the dead children was under one year old.

In total, the rescue operation lasted 69 hours.
