Sea mine explodes near Romanian resort coast

An explosion in the sea near the resort village of Costinesti in Romania has occurred on the morning of August 14

Digi24 reported the information.

According to local authorities, a sea mine exploded after hitting a pier. No one was seriously injured in the incident. However, there is a concern that another mine could be adrift in the sea.

The explosion injured a man who complained of hearing damage but refused hospitalization.

The Romanian Navy has also prepared a team of demining divers who, together with the Coast Guard, will go to the area to assess the situation and defuse the second mine if it is found.

On March 26, a Russian naval mine exploded in the resort village of Sychavka, Odesa region, having been washed ashore during a storm.
