Scholz speaks about Russia's isolation at G20 summit
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called for joint discussions on the possible isolation of Russia at the G20 summit in connection with the current events in Ukraine.
The RBC-Ukraine publication reported this referring to the statement of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the G20 summit in Indonesia.
"It is important that we discuss this topic together here. After all, many countries gather here," he said, answering a question about the isolation of the Russian Federation.
The head of the German government noted that the group of twenty represents most of the world's population and economic production.
"In this respect, the understanding reached here, as well as discussions and debates are necessary to contribute to the improvement of the existing situation," he said.
Scholz once again claimed that the severe current situation "is caused by Russia's special military operation in Ukraine."
"That is why we should also discuss similar issues and this problem," he concluded.
