Scandalous tweets with a "peace formula": Elon Musk assures Zelenskyy of support for Ukraine, adds that major escalation will cause great damage
US tech businessman Elon Musk, after a series of controversial tweets on the conditions for peace between Ukraine and Russia, said that he still backs Ukraine.
Musk issued a new statement in response to a post-survey by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
"I still strongly support Ukraine, but I am convinced that a large-scale escalation of the war will cause great harm to Ukraine and possibly the world," he wrote.
He also noted that SpaceX continues to financially support the fight against the armed Russian aggression.
"So far, SpaceX has spent approximately $80 million out of pocket to enable and support Starlink in Ukraine. Our support for Russia is $0. Obviously, we are pro Ukraine. Trying to retake Crimea will cause massive death, probably fail & risk of nuclear war. This would be terrible for Ukraine and the Earth," Musk says.

On the evening of October 3, a series of provocative tweets appeared on Musk's verified account. In particular, Elon Musk suggested how to achieve peace in Ukraine, and offered to support his proposal or not. Among the points published in Musk's survey are "hold another referendum on the Ukrainian territories temporarily occupied by Russia" and "give Crimea to Russia." In the comments, Musk was instead offered to demilitarize Russia and advised to study history. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, responded to such a survey. He also launched a poll on his account. In it, Zelenskyi asked users which Elon Musk they like more - the one who supports Ukraine or the one who supports Russia.
