Scale of damage after new Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian energy system may exceed consequences of attack on October 10-12

On October 22 Russian military forces carried out another missile attack targeting energy facilities in western Ukraine, the country’s power grid operator Ukrenergo said

Ukrenergo said this in a message on Telegram.

"On October 22, Russian terrorists launched another missile attack on energy facilities of the western regions of Ukraine. The scale of damage is comparable or may exceed the consequences of the attack on October 10-12" Ukraine’s power grid operator Ukrenergo said.

Many regions are left without electricity.  Repair crews of Ukrenergo will begin restoration as soon as rescuers of the State Emergency Service eliminate the consequences of missile strikes.

"Currently, energy supply restrictions have been forcibly applied in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kirovohrad regions" - Ukrenergo informed.
