SBU neutralizes group of saboteurs preparing missile attacks on Ukrainian railways infrastructure

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has neutralized a group of saboteurs recruited by the Russian FSB, preparing missile attacks on Ukrzaliznytsia facilities and collecting data on the movement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

The SBU press service reported the information.

The group, which was formed by Russian FSB officers, included 8 local residents, one of whom used the status of an assistant to a current MP and a journalist's certificate as a cover. Another was recruited by the Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation in Kharkiv.

"The SBU CI neutralized an extensive FSB agent network as a result of a large-scale special operation in Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. The criminals collected intelligence on the locations and movements of the Defense Forces in the regions. The enemy was particularly focused on the routes of military echelons and the location of railway stations where the Ukrainian Armed Forces unload weapons," the statement said.

The offenders also reconnoitered the locations of ammunition depots, firing positions, checkpoints and fortifications of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the frontline areas of eastern Ukraine and in the Dnipro region.

"Also, during the temporary occupation of Izyum and Balakliya, the defendants selected candidates for local occupation administrations," the SBU said

Currently, four of the eight are in Russia. During searches of their homes, Russian symbols and pro-Kremlin literature were found
