SBU disclose details of searches on premises of the UOC MP
The State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), conducting counter-intelligence measures on the premises of the UOC MP, together with the police and the National Guard, investigated more than 350 church buildings and 850 people
The State Security Service of Ukraine announced the investigation results on the Facebook page.
Counter-intelligence measures in question are the measures conducted on the premises of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in Kyiv, the Koretsky Holy Trinity Monastery and Sarny-Polissia Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the Rivne region.
"More than 50 people underwent in-depth counterintelligence interviews. In some interviews a polygraph was applied. Among them were not only citizens of Ukraine, but also foreigners, in particular citizens of the Russian Federation, who were on the territory of the facilities. Some of them provided passports and military tickets of the USSR; some did not have original documents at all, but only their copies, or had Ukrainian passports with signs of forgery or damage. Currently, an in-depth check is being carried out in relation to them," the SBU said.
In addition, the law enforcement officers found that on the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra was a 32-year-old Ukrainian who may have been involved in the criminal activities of the pro-Russian information agency Antvan. He is a trustee of the Russian company ANTVAN GROUP owner - citizen of the Russian Federation Alexander Orlov.
He owned a number of land plots and catering establishments in Ukraine. Currently, this property has been seized as part of criminal proceedings.
In the course of security measures, the following were found: pro-Russian literature, used for studies in seminaries and parish schools and the propaganda of "Russian world" doctrine; cash in the total amount of more than UAH 2 million, more than USD 100,000 and several thousand Russian rubles. All materials will be submitted for an expertise.
