Security Service of Ukraine identified and detained two Russian agents. In particular, one was mobilized in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and disclosed Ukrainian positions in Donetsk region. The other displaced person worked in Odesa region
Press service of Security Service of Ukraine reports
Law enforcement officers established that one of the Russian agents was a resident of the Kharkiv region, who was recruited by the Russian FSB at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Later, the Russian informant went to the Sumy region as a displaced person and was mobilized to Ukrainian Armed Forces, where he carried out reconnaissance and subversive activities.
The Russian henchman was sent for training at a center in the Zhytomyr region, where he collected data from combat training instructors and "researched" the object's security system for Russians. Later, he was redeployed as part of Ukrainian forces to Donetsk region, where he continued to collect information.
The task of the mobilized person was to disclose bases and routes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ movement in Sloviansk and Kramatorsk districts.
He involved a countryman in his "activities" who, after February 24, 2022, moved with him to Sumy as internally displaced person, and later to Odesa region.

"Having agreed to the Russian agent's "proposal", his henchman received an appropriate briefing and began searching for bases of Ukrainian Defense Forces units in the Black Sea region. First of all, he tried to identify warehouses with artillery weapons and ammunition of Ukrainian troops. For this, he travelled around the area and secretly observed Ukrainian objects," press service explained.

In addition, the mobilized persons were looking for "like-minded people" to cooperate with Russian special services. In the "zone of special attention" there were ex-servicemen and women who lived in the front-line areas in the south and east.
The Ukrainian Security Service detained both perpetrators while attempting to transfer classified information to the Russian Federation. During searches, law enforcement officers found mobile phones with evidence of conspiratorial mailing with Russian enemies.
The defendants were served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law). The choice of custody as a measure of restraint is being decided.
