US to impose sanctions on over 500 Russian targets on second anniversary of full-scale invasion - media

On the second anniversary of the full-scale invasion, the United States plans to announce new sanctions against more than 500 Russian companies, legal entities and individuals

CNN reported the information, citing an unnamed official of the US Treasury Department.

The new sanctions will be a response to the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and will be imposed on the eve of the second anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Speaking on February 20, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that the new measures would be a "substantial package" that would cover a wide range of elements related to Russia's military-industrial base and the sources of revenue for the Russian economy that feed the country's "war machine."
