Reuters reported the information.

“From Spain, we've been advocating for increasing as much as possible the financing for Ukraine… We are advocating to actually look at creative ways to also use those immobilized assets,” Cuerpo said.

He also noted that Spain, one of the main importers of Russian liquefied natural gas in the European Union, is working to reduce its imports and diversify supplies from countries such as the United States.

  • On September 10, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. They discussed using frozen Russian assets to benefit Ukraine and strengthening sanctions against Russia.
