Political expert Vadym Denysenko believes that Putin seeks to return to the G8 and have sanctions against Russia lifted

He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.

"Putin is planning to stall for time, to see how the U.S. will react. Today, his main goal is not Ukraine. His main goal is the lifting of sanctions. He needs to return to the G8 and lift sanctions. This is the key story that he will promote in the upcoming negotiation process," Denysenko explained.

According to the political expert, Putin will raise the stakes and demand as much as possible - in fact, everything. He will try to play the map of the world, not Ukraine. It is important for him to put Russia's geopolitical capabilities at the forefront. Putin will try to trade on such topics as the Iran-Israel war, Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis. In addition, Putin will try to exploit possible escalation of the situation in Venezuela and Guyana, which will affect the production of deepwater oil in Guyana.

"He will try to talk about North Korea, about how he can stop Kim Jong Un from going crazy and firing missiles at the United States. That is, it will be a huge story that will be partly true and partly a bluff. That's what he will trade to lift sanctions," Denysenko added.

  • On November 7, Russian leader Vladimir Putin made a series of statements about the Russian-Ukrainian war and how to resolve it.
  • U.S. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that the U.S. does not see Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin's readiness to give up his demands for the sake of negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.
