Sanctions against Russia, preparations for winter, reconstruction of country: what Zelenskyy talked about with representatives of US Congress in Kyiv
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with members of the House of Representatives of the US Congress the priority needs of the Armed Forces, sanctions against Russia and preparations for the winter.
Zelenskyy's press service reported this on Telegram.
"We discussed the situation on the front line, Ukraine's preparation for winter and the need to rebuild the energy infrastructure that was destroyed, the strengthening of sanctions against the aggressor country, the priority needs of the Armed Forces. It is important that Ukraine receives air defense systems in the necessary quantity to create an "air shield," the message says.
It is known that members of the US House of Representatives Mike Turner, James Himes and Eric Swalwell arrived in Kyiv for a meeting with Zelenskyy.
"This is a bold step that demonstrates strong bicameral and bipartisan support for Ukraine. It confirms that the United States is our strategic partner," Zelenskyy added.
