He made this statement before a meeting of the Board of Commissioners on Security Issues.
According to him, NATO continues to investigate the recent incidents of Russian airspace incursions in Estonia and Poland, but it remains unknown who is responsible for the violation of Danish airspace.
“When it comes to Poland and Estonia, it's clear that it is the Russians. Still, we are assessing whether it is intentional or not. But even if it is not intentional, it is reckless and it is unacceptable.,” he emphasized.
- Russian drones massively entered Poland on the night of September 9-10. This was the first such attack in modern Polish history.
- On September 19, three Russian MiG-31 fighter jets illegally entered Estonian airspace. Estonia’s government has called for consultations with NATO under Article 4. The alliance is set to convene the North Atlantic Council next week.
