Russia's use of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear weapons to have serious consequences – G7 statement
Russia's irresponsible nuclear rhetoric is unacceptable, and any use of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weapons will be met with severe consequences
On February 27, after the one-year mark of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine the leaders of the Group of Seven published a joint statement to reaffirm their unwavering support for Ukraine
“We express our gravest concern over Russia’s continued occupation and control over the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. The situation can only be resolved by complete withdrawal of Russian troops and equipment from the premises,” the G7 leaders said, adding that they support the IAEA's efforts to strengthen nuclear safety and create a safe zone around the plant.
In addition, world leaders emphasized their support for President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's 'Peace Formula'.
“We remain committed to coordinating efforts to meet Ukraine’s pressing military and defence equipment needs, with an immediate focus on air defence systems and capabilities, as well as necessary munitions and tanks.,” the G7 statement says.
They also promised to continue providing humanitarian aid, support for the energy sector, and to help Ukraine maintain economic and financial stability.
“We salute the heroism of the Ukrainian people in their brave resistance. We commit to intensifying our diplomatic, financial and military support for Ukraine, and to increasing the costs to Russia and those supporting its war effort,” the G7 leaders reiterated.

According to media reports, the war in Ukraine will be the main topic at a meeting of G20 foreign ministers to be held on March 1-2.
