Russia's night attack on Ukraine: air defense destroys all drones in Kyiv, Chernivtsi, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions

On the night of May 25, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine: in the west, the air alert lasted the longest, in Kyiv, Chernivtsi, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions, anti-aircraft defense systems destroyed all targets

The local government authorities report it.

Mykolaiv and Odesa regions

Colonel Vladyslav Nazarov, the spokesperson for the Operational Command South, commented regarding the night air attack. He stated that the air defense forces successfully intercepted and shot down three Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones over the Mykolaiv region, and an additional one over Odesa region.

Colonel Nazarov emphasized on Telegram that no targets were hit within the area of responsibility of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine.

Kyiv and the region

In the morning, Serhii Popko, the head of the Kyiv city military administration, reported a large-scale drone attack on the capital, but assured that all aerial threats had been neutralized.

"After a four-day lull in May, the enemy has once again targeted Kyiv from the air. This marks the twelfth attack on the capital this month! Preliminary information suggests that the enemy employed Shahed barrage ammunition during the more than three-hour-long alert. The attack was conducted in a coordinated manner," he stated.

Popko highlighted that the enemy is employing a tactic of multiple waves of drone attacks with intervals between each group. This strategy aims to exhaust the air defense capabilities while pursuing their objectives.

"Our brave Ukrainian air defenders left no chance for the aggressor. All identified airborne targets moving toward Kyiv were successfully neutralized by our anti-aircraft defense. Kyiv remained unharmed! I express my gratitude once again to our air defense for their outstanding work!" Popko added.

During the night, the Kyiv city military administration warned about the presence of air defense operations in the region, specifically on the approaches to Kyiv.

They also emphasized the ongoing threat of enemy UAVs in the region.

Chernivtsi region

Air defense forces successfully intercepted and shot down a UAV in the affected region.

Regional head Ruslan Zaparanyuk mentioned on Telegram that the relevant services are actively working, and further details will be provided later.
