Russia's night attack: hits in Sumy, fire in Mykolaiv

An air raid alert was declared in a number of Ukrainian regions due to the threat of a Shahed attack and the activities of Russian tactical aviation.
The Ukrainian Air Force warned that Russian tactical aircraft were active in the eastern and southeastern directions and that there was a threat of using air weapons.
Sumy region
The regional military administration reported the strikes in the Sumy region on Telegram.
"In the middle of the night, a Shahed UAV hit an infrastructure facility in the city of Sumy. All emergency services and the military administration are working at the scene," the message says.
They called on residents of the region to stay in shelters until the air raid alert was canceled. The Sumy Regional Military Administration also asked not to take or distribute photos and videos of the hit.
Mykolaiv and the region
Vitalii Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, told Espreso that the Russian attack hit the Stepove community and Mykolaiv.
"There are two dead in the Stepove community, a cafe and several administrative buildings were damaged. As for Mykolaiv, only the windows of eight high-rise buildings were damaged. Now the local authorities have deployed two points to eliminate the consequences of the shelling. There were no casualties in Mykolaiv," said Kim.
Earlier, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that, on the night of October 19, the Russian troops launched a missile attack on the city. As a result, a fire broke out in an unused warehouse building on the territory of one of the enterprises. The blast wave also damaged apartment buildings.
In addition, at about 02:40 a.m. in one of the villages of the Stepove community, as a result of the fall of the wreckage of a Shahed-136/131 UAV, a fire broke out on the roof of an unused one-story warehouse building.
According to Kim, there were no casualties.
Dnipropetrovsk region
The First Local media outlet reports that on the morning of October 19, explosions were heard in Kryvyi Rih during an air raid alert. The Telegram channel Svoi Kryvyi Rih reported a powerful explosion around 5 a.m. It added that there were "more explosions" in the city.
"In the morning, soldiers from the Eastern Military Group shot down a missile over the Kryvyi Rih district. I am grateful to the defenders who are 'holding' the sky around the clock," wrote Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipro Regional Military Administration.
