Russia's attack on Kyiv “runs counter to President Trump’s call to stop killing”, U.S. Embassy says
The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine has responded to Russia’s massive attack on Kyiv on the night of June 17, saying it contradicts Donald Trump’s call to end the war

The embassy posted this on the social media platform X on June 18.
“We extend deepest condolences to the victims’ families. This senseless attack runs counter to President Trump’s call to stop the killing and end the war,” the embassy added.
- On the night of June 17, Russian troops launched a large attack on Kyiv using drones and missiles. One missile hit a high-rise building in the Solomianskyi district, destroying an entire apartment block. It struck so hard that it broke through the concrete floors down to the basement. As of June 18, 24 people have been confirmed dead, and over 130 are injured. Search and rescue efforts are still underway.
