Russia's army conducts unsuccessful assaults on 5 frontline areas in Ukraine — General Staff

Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated 7 tanks, 49 artillery systems and 810 Russian troops per day

The total combat losses of Russia from 24.02.22 to 02.01.24 were approximately:

General Staff report: 64 clashes took place at the front over the day, Russian army made unsuccessful assaults in 5 directions

According to the General Staff, the operational situation has not changed in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus.

Northeastern border area: the Russian army maintains a military presence, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

Kupyansk direction: Ukrainian defenders repelled 7 attacks near Sinkivka and east of Petropavlivka in Kharkiv region, where the Russian troops unsuccessfully tried to break through the lines of defense.

Lyman direction: the Russian forces did not conduct offensive (assault) operations.

Bakhmut direction: Ukrainian soldiers repulsed 10 hostile attacks near Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka, Donetsk region.

Avdiivka direction: Ukrainian forces continue to hold back the Russian army, which keeps trying to encircle Avdiivka. They steadfastly hold the line, inflicting significant losses on the Russian army. Thus, over the past day, defenders fought off four attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka and another 19 attacks in the areas of Pervomaiske and Nevelske in Donetsk region.

Marinka and Shakhtarsk directions: there were no offensive (assault) actions by the Russian invaders.

Zaporizhzhia direction: Ukraine's forces fended off 3 Russian attacks near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.

Kherson direction: Ukrainian soldiers continue to expand their foothold. Despite significant losses, the Russian troops keep trying to drive Ukrainian units out of their positions. Thus, over the past day, the invaders carried out 19 unsuccessful assault operations.

At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to actively inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying Russian forces, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

Russia fired at Ukraine with missiles and drones, Ukrainian Armed Forces hit 15 areas of Russian troop concentration

In total, the Russian army launched 1 missile strike and 113 air strikes, fired 84 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Private residential, other civilian and industrial infrastructure was destroyed and damaged.

At night, the Russian troops once again attacked Ukraine using 35 Shahed-136/131 UAVs. Air defense destroyed all the drones.

Air strikes were carried out in Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

About 110 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Meanwhile, over the past day, Ukrainian aviation struck 13 areas where Russian troops were concentrated.

Missile troops hit the area of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, 6 artillery systems, 3 air defense systems and an enemy control center.
