Russians shell policemen in Donetsk region evacuating civilians with children: there are wounded

Russian troops attacked a police car that was transporting a family with four children from New York, Donetsk region. One of the shell fragments hit a 14-year-old girl

This was reported by the press service of the Donetsk regional police.

Another fragment stuck in the body armour of a police officer. It is also known that the police officer sustained concussion.

"The shelling took place yesterday, on 24 May, while leaving New York. The shell exploded behind the car. The explosion was so powerful that the shrapnel pierced the armour in the car. At that moment, there were 11 people in the car: five law enforcement officers and a family - a mother, a grandmother and four children aged from almost 2 to 14," the police said.

According to the report, the law enforcement officers were not confused and continued driving.

"On the way, they provided first aid to the child. Only after the family was handed over to the care of social services and volunteers did the police undergo a medical examination," the press service said.

Earlier, White Angels volunteers took the last child out of Khromove near Bakhmut.
