Russians collect signatures for 'social assistance payments', may announce a staged referendum in Zaporizhzhia region
In the Russian-occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region, invading Russian forces have found a new tactic to collect data from local residents in order to hold a staged referendum
Zaporizhia District Council deputy Alisa Sysoeva said this on Espreso TV.
According to her, the Russian occupiers are doing very incomprehensible work with the pseudo-referendum, and they are no longer talking about the date of September 11.
"They are trying to work with the local population. Local residents tell us that they have chosen a new tactic - they go around the buildings and distribute leaflets and collect signatures, as it were, for the payment of social assistance", the deputy said.
She emphasized that in these leaflets it is stated that aid will allegedly be paid, in particular to children who will go to school and newborns.
"The Russians are filling out documents at the same moment, where they take the same data as for the pseudo-referendum - passport data, they also ask people to sign. There are rumors that after these rounds, they can announce that it was a 'referendum'. The law enforcement officers will assess whether this is legal", Sysoeva concluded.
